District Master’s Updates
Worthy Sirs,
Worthy Sirs, this past Saturday evening I had the pleasure of participating with 23 SKs in Color Corps for the transfer of Silver Rose from Oklahoma to Texas. Very large turnout. Thank you to all the SKs who turned out, photo attached.
We have two upcoming Exemplifications in October:
- October 17th, 2026 in Flint, TX. at St Mary Margaret Church
- October 24th, 2026 in Dallas at San Juan Diego Church in Spanish
We have a big challenge ahead of us as Sir Knights, we really need to grow so I need each Assembly in East Texas to push for Five (5) candidates for your Assembly to attend the Flint Exemplification on October 17th, 2026. Work together, carpool, invite, make it easy for candidates to attend.
In Dallas we will be hosting a Spanish Exemplification at San Juan Diego on October 24th, 2026. We really need to push for Spanish candidates. This is a great opportunity to join in their native tongue. I’d like to see 50 to 100 candidates at this exemplification, they candidates are out there, reach out and invite Knight to join us and complete their journey into the final chapter. Please continue to send me information on candidates and remember that you can send forms via email (texts are very last resort as it isn’t easy to print out) also payment via Zelle works well for myself as well as candidates, we each get a copy of the transaction. I have included an email Omar Mediano sent out that has a great message.
A few thoughts on recruiting and belonging to the 4th degree. We need to remember that we are 3rd degree Knights first and our duty is to grow the order and we can only bring men into the 4th degree if they are Knights. So recruit at the local council level, attend CUFs, talk up the 4th degree. Show by example that we all roll up our sleeves and put in the work at fish fry’s BBQs, street cleanups, Bingo nights and the many other activities councils perform. I’d like to see all 4th degree Knights remember to lead by example, wearing the uniform is great but take an active role in the council activities. I have heard some disturbing news that some Sir Knights are acting as if they are above council members, let’s not perpetuate that behavior, we are all Knights of Columbus, we all have a role in the council.
On recruiting hold some open meetings where you invite potential candidates to join you, meet some of the members, hear what you do. Remember you do not need to hold a business meeting each month, you can hold various open meetings such as Patriotic events, family socials. Think how a Flag retirement ceremony could be educational for 3rd degree members and their families as well as the parish and community at large. We have lot’s of opportunities, share them and gain some new members.

Here is the latest membership chart. We have a goal as a district of 273 new members.
I gave an assignment in my last update related to councils and assemblies. I am attaching a sheet of the list Supreme has and I am asking each FN and Comptroller to look at this list and confirm, add or delete. I need this by Wednesday evening to share at the Provincial meeting this Thursday.
The second assignment I gave was to provide at least two names for potential of joining our Exemplification team. Please submit names to Myself and Bill Pilcher if you haven’t yet. Please note positions, roles these men have held in past such as officer, CUF team member and role, computer, av skills, language skills such as English or Spanish speaker and reader and if bi’lingual.
