North Texas Revised Exemplification of Patriotism

Worthy Sirs,

Yesterday was a bright and sunny day in North Texas. We started with an 8am mass presided by SK Fr Alfonse Nazzaro assisted by three of our candidates, Transitional Deacon Blake Thompson, Fr. John Kamondo and Fr Tokha Hoang. Fr Alfonse gave a moving homily highlighting Fr McGivney and the Knights of Columbus and being on Mission for Jesus. It was a great way to start the day.

We exemplified 109 men into the 4th degree who we now address as Sir Knights. 104 men from Dallas and Fort Worth Dioceses as well as 3 from District 6, Austin and 2 from West Texas District 5. We were privileged to have 4 Priests and 1 Transitional Deacon attend the Exemplification with us.

Our Degree team led by SK Bill Pilcher Assy as Ceremonial Director who also played the role of Historian yesterday with SK Anthony Caranna as Master, SK Dick Norgaard as Expositor of the Faith, SK Richard McCaffrey was the Expositor of the constitution, SK Rick Guzman was our cantor. Jim Hale was Marshal assisted by Tyler Marshal James Kennerly and Fort Worth Marshal Emeritus Kelly Chanoine as well as Provincial Marshal David Zeigler. Our Flag team was led by Marshal Bobby Donahoo assisted by SK’s Ruben Cisneros, Don Vinson, Mario Martinez, Jack Ayers, Ed Stankunas and Jesse Doria. Our AV team was SK’s Dan Chaney, Dan Eckelkamp and Ron Schoof. We had a standout turnout of 20+ Sir Knights as section guides during the Exemplification.

We were privileged to have many dignitaries in attendance at the Exemplification. It was quite an Honor to have our Supreme Master SK Michael McCusker in attendance and Knighting men into Knighthood. As well as Vice Supreme Master Patrick Conway who also Knighted men as assistance in Knighting was provided by SK Kenneth Franch IFDM. we had three other former District Masters in attendance. SK Blake Krass District Master 6 Austin was also in attendance. Also in attendance was Supreme Director Alfredo Vela PSD Texas. Our Texas State Deputy Ron Alonzo and the Dallas Diocesan Deputy Mike Courtney and Ft Worth Diocesan Deputy Craig Modrzynski.

We followed with a banquet in the parish hall. We had remarks from our Supreme Master and Vice Supreme Master. Our class honoree’s mother Lydia gave a talk about Tommy Conrad and his love for life and our country, it was a moving talk.

We were able to give away a uniform to the incoming FN os Assembly 3181 Keith Mack who will be picking a new SK to receive the uniform, it’s a great way to build your Color Corps.

I also owe a debt of gratitude to District Secretary/Marshal Robert Daleo for keeping me grounded and providing invaluable assistance throughout the days events.

Thank you to all in attendance. Mary Immaculate Parish was a gracious host with their facilities and SK Omar Mediano, GK 5052 was the lead for hosting this exemplification as well as recruiting 24 candidates.

Lastly let us all remember and thank our wives and families who let us pursue our various roles within the Knights of Columbus

Ok now let’s start recruiting and let me know who wants to host the next Exemplification. I need to build out the schedule for the next year or two so we all can plan.

Thank you,
Kevin
